Keeping the buzz buzzing

The Pollinator Partnership brings together Jenny Bird for Burt’s Bees in a benefit project with 100% of proceeds of the $24 bracelet sale going to help Canada’s depleting population of bees
One of our fave Canadian accessories designer teamed up with bee-based skin care manufacturer Burt’s Bees for a bee benefiting initiative to help raise awareness and funds to protect this country’s bumblebees and pollinators. The For The Bees campaign bracelet launched July 1st and we’re happy to report that its success has resulted in sold-out bracelet counters across the nation but, fear not- a fresh supply is landing tomorrow at The Bay across Canada.
Toronto-based Jenny Bird, of handbag and jewelry fame, designed the charming limited-edition bee bracelet retailing $24 to help protect Canada’s depleting population of bees and other pollinators. Pesticide use, pollution, trade and loss of habitat have badly battered bumblebee populations, of which 43 Canadian types have become threatened and 99% of the Rusty patched bumblebee have already been lost. Managing the initiative is the Pollinator Partnership, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping protect and restore populations of pollinator species, bees in particular.
The For The Bees friendship bracelet is available in gold-plated bee or silver-plated brass and is as handsome on a man’s wrist as a lady’s.

Must drop everything and head to the Bay. These are so pretty and unique. I just love them. Thanks for this post —get me to the hive!
Haha I’m there too! Heading over today.
At first I didn’t realize that the bracelet’s value is 100% going to the Partnership, which is really outstanding since many initiatives only fork over a portion of proceeds. I’m a huge fan of Jenny Bird and I randomly met her on the street a year before she launched her line- she was still working her ‘day job’ then – communications for Cossette I think. Nice to see her doing so well and working with Burt’s Bees on this- our pollinators are so important and I didn’t realize that the bumblebee needs our help. Thanks for joining me in this- here we come!
