Waving off former President George Bush: Barack and Michelle Obama, Vice President Joseph Biden and his wife Jill in killer boots- perhaps not what you’d expect to see on this important day
The inauguration of the United States’ 44th President was an historic event marked by emotions of optimism and determinance today as new President Barack Obama officially started his term.
As always, Obama looked sharp.

Michelle Obama is now the new First Lady and was positively beaming in a glitzy yellowy-gold dress by Isabel Toledo, silk scarf, matching glittery overcoat paired with teal Jimmy Choo pumps.  Hopefully Michelle’s Inaugural Ball dress will be just as eye-catching as this Toledo outfit- there is already no shortage of press about her colourful dressing choices.

The Obama daughters Sasha and Malia looked colourful in their J. Crew winter coats and matching accessories.

Obamas with the Bushes- oops, wrong wives, gentlemen. The soft grey suit on the former First Lady Mrs. Bush is divine.

Without question the most questionable fashion choice of the day was singer Aretha Franklin‘s bow hat. I must confess that I spent most of my time staring at it and its glittery rhinestones as she sang

Oprah Winfrey looked cozy in camel tone winter wear.

Hillary Clinton looked lovely in a simple bright blue overcoat while Bill worked the pale yellow scarf. Kudos to the Bush twins at right for dressing appropriately, although a little matchy-matchy.

In the last picture, the two girls next to the Clintons are the Bush Twins- Jenna and Barbara and not Chelsea Clinton.

She looked unique. She looked very confident. The colour that she was wearing was perfect for this occasion. This is a happy colour and in the evening her dress was perfect.

I was going to comment on the toilet-paper nature of Ms. Obama’s fashion crime, but you already beat me to the punch. :P

Far as Ms. Biden’s boots go – DAMN!!! That is one hot lady!!! Same goes for Ms. McCain!!! WOW!!!
