As I stated before, I’m featuring Valentine’s Day gift ideas but there’s no reason why you can’t run out and score these now (and buy your sweetie a heart-shaped box of chocos on V-day.)

Here’s the rundown of gift ideas for Valentine’s Day for that certain someone, in this case male, although I must say that most of these items would make any gal happy.

HD pocket video camera

Weighs as much as a chocolate bar, shoots high definition video for up to 2 hours, has 8GB of internal memory, and a large 2-inch screen. Easily uploads to YouTube or Vimeo. Take cue from Zack & Miri; oh, what fun! (Get the waterproof pouch and film up to 5m deep underwater next time you’re snorkeling.)

Mayan Hot Chocolate

Chocolate makers at SOMA call this the drink of the gods. Make him feel like one with this spiced-up hot chocolate (spices include ginger, Madagascar vanilla, orange peel, chili) served as a shot or diluted with milk for a fire-side sipper.

Kapsule fragrances by Karl Lagerfeld

 Something interesting to read

Malcolm Gladwell’s new book, The Tipping Point, is about the “moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire.” Sounds like it will be a fun read; Gladwell’s Blink, The Power of Thinking Without Thinking is also well worth it- behavioral human nature quantified with scientific data analyses. Try the mini self-tests in Blink and you’ll surprise yourself (I did.)

Because bubbly is the new black

We don’t just mean bubble skirts- bubble everything is still raging as a trend, including the drinking kind from France and other fine growing nations. Food for thought: more people took sparkly to a party than any other beverage this holiday. So keep it chillin’ in a slick ice bucket- way sexier than parking your Veuve next to the 2%.

yay! terrific post. i think that these are all creative yet appropriate gifts! they’re affordable, they show a sense of taste, and they’re all things that most guys would not buy for themselves. That’s a hole in one.
