Revlon CustomEyes Giveaway

March 8, 2011

Revlon CustomEyes eye shadow palettes are spring trend-ready, such as the Party Pops colourway. $8.99 at local beauty aisles. Contest below to win 4 CustomEyes compacts.

We were super pumped this month to receive Revlon’s new CustomEyes eye shadow compacts for our eye powder pleasure.

You’ll be happy to know that the glorious 5-colour sets in this new mini-collection by Revlon are as beautiful on the eyes as they are in their cases. Suckers for packaging, we couldn’t help but notice the fun braided finish of the shadow pack and, product marketing folks, listen up: details like this make us go from beauty aisle to the sales counter.

While some of us have our faves (I’m a Party Pops gal these days, Jordana, whose review is here below, is loving Naturally Glamourous and Metallic Chic) perhaps the best part of the collection is that the shades are rich enough to work on their own with light to heavy intensity.

Revlon CustomEyes eyeshadow palettes have all the colours for this spring and summer beauty trends. Clockwise from top left: Naturally Glamourous, Party Pops, Smokey Sexy, Sweet Innocence, Metallic Chic and Rich Temptation.

The CustomEyes eye shadow compacts have a how-to application illustration on the reverse side of the compact, which means that you can really achieve this look (below).

But you don’t have to- we play beauty the same way we cook: a little lesson to get us started then it’s freestyle, baby.

Revlon CustomEyes: 5 colours expertly applied thanks to the how-to illustration on the reverse side of the compact.

Jordana’s CustomEyes review:

Unless someone else is doing my make-up for me (e.g., at LG Fashion Week), my daily eye make-up routine consists of Maybelline concealer.

For my evening look, I add black Joe Fresh liquid eye-liner and Maybelline great-last mascara (I also use an eyelash curler).

So, you can imagine my reluctance when Johanne asked me to try out the Revlon CustomEyes eye shadows. Five shadows in one little plastic package? The illustration on the back has 5 steps (to go with the 5 shadows, right?)! I thought it was too much for me to handle but with Johanne’s encouragement, I put the little colourful shades to work.

My first attempt was with Naturally Glamorous colours as the browns are most in my comfort-zone. Application didn’t take too long and the steps were relatively simple to follow. According to Johanne I needed to apply more colour…but I think baby steps is the way to go for me. Anyway, I think my first attempt was a success!

This week I’ve used Metallic Chic twice already. I feel a bit wild straying away from browns and using green- yes green -on my eye lids. But you know what, this crazy colour scheme has actually worked! I especially like the light and dark silvery grey shades. Once I used the dark shade just as a liner. I thought I was being kind of inventive.

But I guess that’s the beauty of having five colours in one set – there are countless colour combinations to be created.

Ooh thanks for sharing, I haven’t seen these in stores yet. I’m a sucker for trying out new products, they get me every time. I love the metallic colors, they just scream: happy, spring! This is just what I need to get my out of my eyeliner and mascara winter blahs rut.

The colours are reminiscent of Chanel’s quad sets, they look so rich in colour and texture. I love the colour combinations, I am having a hard time figuring out which set is the best. Honestly at this rate, with my inability to sort out which I like best, I am very tempted to purchase them all! Thank you for the write up. I don’t check out the beauty aisle in drugstores very often anymore, but this review is making me itching to go to a Shopper’s right now!

I find Revlon eye shadow becomes quite dry by the end of the day. Did you experience any such thing ? I would still be willing to try a punch of colour !

So fun! I, too, am a sucker for packaging and love it when eyeshadow comes in colour-combo suggestions. I was just looking through my makeup bag the other day and thinking that I need a colour update. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that I might win a new look!
