JCPenney’s Father’s Day ad features Texas-based same-sex parents with their two children. Amazing image, even better message.

The shoot: JCPenney’s Father’s Day advertisement

The models: Not models! Real life dads Cooper Smith and Todd Koch with their two children

The garb: JCPenney threads

The photographer: TBD.

The final word: YES!

We were so happy to see this image – it’s such a great family moment and we’re thrilled that JCPenney so boldly embraces same-sex couples’ rights.

Meanwhile, right-wing group One Million Moms has been really busy this past year kicking up a fuss about JCPenney: first they didn’t like the company welcoming Elle DeGeneres as spokesperson, and then they felt that they had to speak out  against the retailer’s Mother’s Day image featuring a lesbian couple. And now this! A happy same-sex couple with two kids for JCPenney’s Father’s Day ad! Imagine!

We stand strong with JCPenney who is proudly supporting and celebrating all Americans, and especially dads of all kinds this coming Father’s Day (in one week!).
