A few hot things
We are still into fall previews over here and thought we’d share some really sweet finds from various media show-downs we passed through recently.
It’s looking like a glorious fall season ahead.
Rubber booties at Mark’s, aren’t they fantastic? These will be very handy for fall (and spring) and are a fun ankle height and in cheerful colours.
Levi’s showed us a really snazzy fall with layering pieces such as this grey jacket, cardi and shirt for men. We were most impressed with the brand’s “Commuter” collection all geared for the urban cyclist. Post on this awesome stuff coming up soon!
Danier leather took its glove cues from trends we’ve seen elsewhere, such as this Victorian lacing from the knuckle to the wrist- it’s a little S&M and we like it.
Here’s another lovely glove at Danier in quilted leather. The fingerless gloves are always super hot and rather handy for iPhone use.
Aviator! We often see this look in the fall and we aren’t complaining with its regular comeback because who doesn’t love a pilot? In this rich toffee hue with quilting detail on the shoulders and that nice lining around the collar, we’re wondering if we can co-pilot this jet plane.
The sheer blouse is still huge- did you get into this trend? I had a nice cream one from a few seasons ago and it’s now retired, so this one with the mottled check looks ripe for my taking. These are easy to wear shirts that look terrific under a blazer for office or with jeans on the weekend for movie night. It’s truly a multi-tasker.
Capes- yes we’ve written about these and this one from Esprit is super fun in its rich fall colours and with the addition of the belt, it affords you a waist- something that is often the penalty of the cut.
Beautiful prints of animals are still all over the place and this one is lovely with all that wing detail. The colours for fall this year are quite richer than what we’ve seen in past seasons, so get on that if you’ve been bored of muted hues. This will be a good season to bring some brighter tones into your fall staples.
Absolutely gorgeous shoes with lots of details such as studs, buckles- you name it, it’s there. These are by Schutz, a Brazilian label coming to Canada and boy, we think they’re going to find a nice happy home here. We’re talking about footwear made the way they should be made, with leather soles, beautiful stitching and top quality materials at a price that competes with many sub-par labels kicking around here. Welcome to Canada, Schutz!
More fantastic footwear from Schutz- right on trend and well-made. What more could we want?
The poncho is another take on the cape trend this season and these native-inspired prints are nice and easy to wear for casual looks. These ones from Sears give another example of how fall’s colours are really bright this year (yes!) and offering something for the colour-starved fashionista shopping in fall.
