The ultimate icon of style, drama and romance- Elizabeth Taylor- inspired today’s post.
This morning I was flipping through a retrospective of our dame’s romance with Richard Burton and among the heart beats and passion there is the photograph of the pair in Rome in 1962 (pictured above). Liz in luxurious leopard print coat and hat, black patent bag and shoes; Dick in a black suit, shoes and patterned tie that ever so echoes her feline print. Well that was that- the two just had to be featured here and now we’re doing a leopard print coat feature.
Are you thinking, Leopard coat- that’s not me: I’m not exciting or bold, I never go anywhere, I take zero fashion risks.
Listen up- you are the perfect candidate to add a leopard print coat to your collection because you probably wear too much black already and – get this- it will make you feel exciting and bold, make you look like you’re going somewhere, and although it may seem like a fashion risk, it’s really not- it’s just good old fashioned fun.
It’s glam and it’s what everyone will envy, but believe it, this print goes with everything: black denim with black boots, red skirts and dresses, leather or plain black leggings. Why stop at taking meowface out only for fancy soirées?
Even if you don’t care about fashion and never really know what’s in, you know that animal print rears its head every season- it comes out like sailor stripes in spring, except the feline likes the fall. Animal print is a classic the way a plain wool coat is a classic, but better- if you’re ever done with your leopard print, you can pull it out of the closet and gift it to some very lucky gal.
Live it! Be exciting! Get compliments! Fashion lets you play the belle. Go on and have fun.
You know you wanna.
