I got a cheese box…

October 18, 2013

…And I know a gal who’s probably thinking “What? I want a cheese box, too!”

Sue, I’m lookin at you and you’re looking at this:

That's right- there were TWO cheese boxes up for grabs at the Mrs. Huizenga auction last night. Bet you wish you snapped up the other one, huh

That’s right- there was not one but TWO cheese boxes up for grabs at the Mrs. Huizenga auction last night. Bet you wish you snapped up the other one, huh

Yesterday’s auction on the wesside at Mrs. Huizenga‘s vintage and antiques treasure emporium was a huge success (the sour keys were delish and the champagne (prosecco) sparkly. The house was pretty full with interesting characters- bidders and the hosts make a fairly colourful lot, and a few dogs even showed up to put in their bids.

I bid on a cheese box and I got it. So it’s not at all what I thought I’d walk in and take home but hey, where else do you store your hats and mittens, blankets and slippers, toys and trays, and double as a coffee table?

Don’t be so hard on yourself for missing last night’s incredibly fun evening of auctioneer entertainment and quick sales at ridiculously low prices that you forget that there’s another one happening in two weeks. This is a flipper’s paradise and you need to be there if only for the fun, but otherwise for the treasures: you could easily turn around anything that went up for sale and double your cash. Many people did. I couldn’t believe how much material moved and how affordable it all was- not to mention legit collectible stuff. And cool! Awesome for gifting to say the least.

See you at the next one?
